Look out for this guy, he has character: Antonio Mckee

This guy has character and probably one of the better fighters when it comes to interviews without a doubt but he's also got a damn good record. He's a veteran that many thought should have been in the UFC a long time ago but he was always getting arrested and into trouble so they never signed him. Now, he's a family man but,... I'll let you judge from the interview.

Dana White Press Conference, talks Overeem, Fedor, Bashes top 10 lists

He calls MMA media "fucking stupid" because they rank Alstaire Overeem top 10 heavyweight. LOL. He's so blunt, I love it.

Chael Sonnen's Poem for Anderson...

This man is classic. Official fan right here, win or lose.

"Anderson think it through
There's still a few months before they lock the cage door behind me and you
Last time they raised your hand
But it was plain to see
That I took a lot more out of you than you took out of me
I broke the mirror and I blew away the smoke
It was me who tapped
But it was you who broke"

There's not much more to say about it.

Booker T interview: Talks Lashley Fight, Return to WWE or TNA?, If He Would Consider Doing MMA, Etc

Booker T was in Houston to see his friend Bobby Lashley fight Chad Griggs and was interviewed by Ariel Helwany after the fight. Here are some highlights of the interview.

When asked his opinion on the Lashley vs Griggs fight:

"Ya, I came to support Bobby (Lashley), Bobby's actually a really good friend of mine, we actually got in the ring together back in our hay day in the WWE"

"I thougth Bobby was little bit anctious, I thought he was alittle bit of,... nervous energy, he wanted to get rid of him too fast."

"I think he let the hype of the crowd get to him tonight more then anything, but I'm sure he's going to come back, come back bigger, stronger."

When asked if the cut Lashley suffered effected him:

I think Bobby, first time something like that happened, I can tell made him apprehensive. You know wanting to shoot on the guy rather then stand toe to toe and getting hit. I think you know, that probably would have helped him more then anything, getting hit one time in the jaw can actually wake you up and help you and i think he really didn't have the chance to get that experience."

Asked if he is a big MMA fan:

"I'm a big fight fan. I'm a big wrestling buff, boxing, and now MMA, I love the sport, I know all the fighter, all the moves, I love the commentary, I just love the fight game in general."

Asked if he would have done MMA instead of wrestling 20 years ago:

I would have been a fighter. I always loved boxing, Mohamed Ali was my idol, I always wanted to be like Mohamed Ali. MMA has something that's totally unique, something that's totally different. I have really good balance, it's something I feel I probably could have done." "I can't do what these guy's do, these guy's train for it, just the training alone, that right there is harder then the fight."

When asked if MMA is hurting professional wrestling?:

I really don't think it's hurting pro wrestling, I think what's hurting pro wrestling is pro wrestling." "I think wrestling is just hurting for talent right now"

When asked weather he would come back to wrestling with WWE or TNA:

"maybe neither, I got a lot of different things brewing right now. My wife just had twins, a boy and a girl, I just felt it was time to take a break after 20 years of wrestling, rejuvenate myself and come back stronger, just like Bobby (Lashley)"

MMA is now legal in Ontario

Woohoo, UFC and the world of mixed martial arts is now legal in Ontario.

The UFC recently hired Tom Wright as the new head of UFC Canada and opened a Toronto office to help increase the promotion's presence in Ontario.

The strategy worked, according to Canadian UFC lawyer Noble Chummar shared the good news with MMACanada.net earlier today:
"Mixed Martial Arts is now regulated in the province of Ontario! Two years ago we have been working around the clock, in meetings with Dana White to get this done.  The UFC has been in Ontario 5-10 times which has indicated that Premier Dalton McGuinty is in touch with what the people want. It's a great day for MMA fans and a great day for the UFC!"
Last year, Dana White anticipated a future show in Ontario at some point in 2010, hoping to put on an event at the Toronto Rogers Centre capable of seating as many as 50,000 fans.

BJ Penn dosen't think Edgar deserves the belt

Former UFC Lightweight Champion BJ Penn said in a recent UFC-released promo for UFC 118 that he does not feel Frankie Edgar deserves to be champion following there bout at UFC 112.

"He's running around," said Penn. "Just step up and fight. And then I see his whole team run and pick him up. All your boys put you on their shoulders and dance you around in front of the judges and try to steal the victory. I'm not gonna be a part of that. Whatever, man. That's the man you are. You're the Ultimate Fighting Champion? Okay. I got you. It's a joke."

"I'm not afraid to exchange with him in any way," said Penn. "I don't think he wants to exchange with me. He's going to be running around. He's just going to try to jazz up what he did last time. A little quicker, a little better, maybe throw in a little kick. His corner, they don't have much to work with. They've just got little Frankie Edgar. They don't have the knockout king or the submission king. They've just got Frankie Edgar."

Penn is one of the most accomplished lightweights in the sport and is widely considered to be one of the best pound-for-pound competitors to ever fight in Mixed Martial Arts. Tune in on August 28th to see two of the best lightweight MMA fighters in the world battle for the top spot again at UFC 118: Edgar Vs. Penn II.

Fedor Emelianenko Interested in 4-6 More Fights With Strikeforce

The former best pound for pound fighter in Mixed Martial Arts, Fedor Emelianenko, is not considering retirement any time soon as rumors may have suggested.

"For now M-1 Global works with Strikeforce and we are concentrating on that, the contract is not over yet. So for now we don’t have any interest in the UFC. So far I feel very comfortable fighting, very good with my fighting, and I’m planning of fighting as long as I can physically. As far and I’m concerned we should discuss the possibility of signing another contract for 4-6 fights."

Emelianenko was riding a 10 year, 28 fight win streak which had him as the #1 best pound for pound fighter in the world until his June 26, 2010 loss to Fabricio Werdum under the Strikeforce banner.

Motivational Speech, Al Pachino says it best. MMA can relate to this speech

My good friend Jean-Luc Boissonneault has a Daily Wellness Tip blog and I saw he put up a video clip of Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday when he does his moditvational speech at the end of the movie before the big game. I remember burning this speech on my CD's and listened to it in the car. I know it by heart and it still gives me chills.

Anyways, I figured I would post it for all of you because it can relate so much to MMA.

James Toney wants Kimbo Slice

This would be a good fight. James Toney just signed a multi fight dea with UFC. He's a former champion is 6 different weight classes and has 44 KO's to his name. Click here for a background on the former pro boxer. We all know Kimbo. He may be a backyard brawler but the man is a hell of a boxer. He's fast, powerful and has youth on his side if he were to face Toney. Kimbo is 36 and Toney is 41.

If these two were to fight, it would become that freak show Dana White is so desprete to avoid. But watch it bring in alot of buy's on PPV and become a success. I hope to god UFC dosn't start doing like Elite XC and Strikeforce who has Hershal Walker and Jose Canseco.

So far, Kimbo is already going to be fighting in Montreal at UFC 113 against Matt Matrione. Matrione is the guy who Marcus Jones wanted to kill on the Ultamite Fighter Season 10. He ended up KO'ing Jones at the finally. Also, note that James Toney is training with Juanito Ibarra,.... Rampage Jackson's former trainer back before he got into that high speed chase. Check the links below.

James "Lights out" Toney Signs Multi Fight Deal With UFC

Unreal, James Toney has signed with the UFC. Toney is a high-profile boxer with a 72-6-3 record in professional boxing, 44 of his wins via KO. He's been border line stalking Dana White, appearing at a bunch of UFC events in the front row and appearing online (Youtube) constantly heckling Dana White to give him a chance.

The guy is 41 years old and probably, at one time the Chuck Lidell of boxing but WTF. Dana is turning into the next Elite XC, freak shows are signing with the UFC and less talent.

Arlovski is back baby

Its about frigging time, I'm such a huge fan of this guy and now he's back. Arlovski just signed a multi fight deal with Strikeforce. He may have 2 TKO losses in his last 2 fights but prior to that, he was on a role with win after win. I think Strikeforce is starting to really pack on a good roster of fighters. This is geting exiting.

Dana White Proof Social Networking Works

Dana White has been giving away free tickets to UFC events through Twitter for the last several UFC events. Often he films on his Vlog when he twitters his location to give away free tickets and then you see the line ups start. Its amazing. Here's how it started in his words. (Check the link for a little video on meeting Dana)

"Lemme tell you when I started goofing around with Twitter. Lemme fuckin' lay this out for you. I'm in New York City. It's 10:30 on a Monday night in midtown Manhattan. It's raining. And it's a Jewish holiday, okay? As you know, I'm a Pinkberry freak. I like to have my Pinkberry. I have this one store in midtown Manhattan that will stay open for me late. I just have to call and let them know, and after I have dinner, I always go there and eat Pinkberry, right? So this one time I'm like, 'Let's just fuck around here and try something.' I Twitter my people. I say, 'Meet me at Pinkberry in midtown Manhattan. I got tickets to the fight if you guys want to go.' So you've been to New York enough, right? People don't give a fuck about anything in New York. I've never seen a city where people just don't fucking care — Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie can be walking down the street holding hands and people could care less, you know? They take shit in stride. I'm twenty minutes late showing up to Pinkberry. The fucking place is packed. There's people everywhere. I get out of the car and everybody starts cheering and going crazy. I look at the police and I'm like, 'Are you guys mad?' And they're like, 'We didn't believe you were coming.' I get out, I sign autographs, take pictures. We hand out like a zillion tickets. We're there for two hours. "And this is the craziest fucking thing about this whole story: Not only is it Monday night, raining, in midtown Manhattan on a Jewish holiday, I'm giving away tickets to a fight in fucking Los Angeles. I can't believe it either.... I get chills just talking about this."

Takanori Gomi in UFC, SUPER exiting

Last night at UFC 108, UFC announced the signing of Takanori Gomi (31-5), once considered to be the best lightweight in the world. This is a huge signing for UFC, especially considering that BJ Penn has been running through all lightweight fighters with ease. With Gomi in the mix, this should prove to be very interesting. Rumours are already spreading that he may fight Kenny Florian in his Octogon debut. This would be a perfect test to see if he's at the level to be a threat to BJ Penn. He and Penn have fought before where Penn won by rear naked choke. We'll see if a rematch is on the horizon.

Check out these articles I found.
